Hello Friends,
So, we’re a few days into March now. I just got back from a week long writing retreat in the woods where I wrote more in seven days than I have written in that short a time maybe ever. My brain is still more or less pudding as I recover, but it feels good to have a lot of machines up and running. We have so many amazing comics coming your way over the next few years, and so many insane plans that are starting to come together. The Empire of the Tiny Onion marches onward.
Over the next month or two you'll be hearing a lot more from us. We’ve got big things coming, and there’s a huge Tiny Onion contingent descending onto C2E2 next month. We’ve got a big revamp of ShopTinyOnion.com around the corner, along with the next iteration of The Onion Club. You’ll be hearing more about Room Service as we fulfill the Kickstarter. There might be something else fun happening in the Kickstarter space this spring, too, but I can’t really talk about that yet.
But we’re on the verge of the FOC of SPECTREGRAPH #1, and I have to show this cover off. I’ve been dying to since I saw the first rough sketch.
That’s right, we got the great and powerful Jenny Frison on board for our open-to-order FOC variant of SPECTREGRAPH #1 before the Final Order Cut-Off this Sunday. SPECTREGRAPH now joins the ranks of many of my creator-owned books to have its launch graced by a Jenny Frison variant, and it really is something to see them all together. If you’ve got the others, how could you NOT try and complete the set?
Okay, so you know that SPECTREGRAPH is coming out on April 24th. You know that it’s the first creator-owned project that I’ve done with the Eisner Award-winning art dynamo, Christian Ward, and that we’ve been talking about it for years now. You know it’s the first of several projects I will be doing as one of the founding creators of DSTLRY. You know that you have to tell your Local Comic Shop that you want a copy this week if you want to get the order in before Final Order Cut-Off.
BUT I’m sure you’re asking yourself - WHAT IS THIS COMIC BOOK?! And why should I buy it?!
We’re still doing a few final art and letter tweaks, but I think this opening sequence helps set the scene, and gives you an idea what I’ve been cooking with Chistian Ward over the last few years.
So that’s the past of our story, but in the present day of 2024, SPECTREGRAPH is the story of two women. JANIE CHASE is a real estate agent who has been tasked to sell a strange mansion on the California Coastline. VESPER QUINN (the character in the Frison cover) is an agent of an organization called The Thanatos Group that has a powerful interest in that mansion, and the dangerous machine that Ambrose Everett Hall built inside of it. It is a horror story about a machine that makes ghosts. A twist on the classic Haunted House story. It will be told in four 46 page issues, released bimonthly starting at the end of April. It features the art of the incredible Christian Ward, and letters from Tiny Onion stalwart, Aditya Bidikar. We have been talking about this comic for years and years, and beyond it being unspeakably gorgeous, it’s fucking GOOD, too.
The Jenny Frison cover above is just our fancy-schmancy FOC Reveal cover, but the book has a whole bunch of deeply beautiful covers I want to show off to you right now.

Just noticed The Deviant 4 wasn’t put under the series properly on comixology/amazon so didn’t pick it up until just now. Any way y’all can correct that?
It was weird trying to search for it but it's ordered through my pullbox!!
