Good Morning Onions!
I hope you slept well. I did not, because I am too excited. Today is the day!
NICE HOUSE BY THE SEA #1 IS NOW AVAILABLE AT YOUR LOCAL COMIC SHOP!
At long last, we return to the sea.
As of today you can go to your local comic shop and pick up the first copy of THE NICE HOUSE BY THE SEA. The first time I finished The Nice House on the Lake, I was on a bus to Portland. As I closed the book I unknowingly let out an audible “Fuuuck you” startling the gentleman next to me, which led to an awkward conversation about how I choose to express my admiration of good books. So, as a fan of the original, I tell you – this book rips and you will not be disappointed. Sophomore albums are scary, but this one feels like a welcomed return.
The Nice House by the Sea is a dream vacation at the end of the world with the worst people you know. The absence of love makes monsters of us all

CONSPIRACY SURROUNDING PRESIDENT’S ASSASSINATION TAKES CENTER STAGE IN THE DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH #23, ISSUE RUSHED BACK TO PRINT
History is a flat circle! In its triumphant return, DOT #23 has sold out completely at the distributor level and is being rushed back to print this week!
From the press release…
Upon its launch, The Department of Truth sold over 100K copies in its initial printing—an impressive number which snowballed to nearly 200K across five printings and gained further momentum with industry praise at nearly every major outlet, from Entertainment Weekly to Forbes. Interest in the series kicked up further when news dropped that The Department of Truth had been picked up by Sister—best known for producing HBO's Chernobyl.
If you missed the first printing, you can tell your local comic shop to order you one from this second release. If you need to catch up, you can get a signed bundle from us!
MEET HARLEY SALBACKA!
Tiny Onion continues to grow! Please join us in welcoming Harley Salbacka to the team! The Beat broke the news on Monday, announcing that Harley will be our new Community and Events Manager, bringing with her over 10 years of experience as a retailer, a sales lead, host, and more! James wanted to write to y’all about this, so without further ado…
Hello Friends.
I'm writing this on the train down to San Diego after a few exciting days in Los Angeles. (Nobody is holding a gun to my head, I promise. I actually had a nice time in LA. It's true!) There are a lot of things cooking over here at Tiny Onion HQ, and I had a bunch of neat meetings about those things, and I can't even start to hint at them but rest assured that I am thoroughly UP TO STUFF. We've got big plans over these next years and I honestly just wish I could clone myself so we could do all of it faster.
BUT I think my favorite night of the trip was getting to spend some time with our latest hire, Harley Salbacka, who has joined us as Tiny Onion's new Community and Events Manager, along with our Production Manager, DeAna Avila, who make up Tiny Onion's Los Angeles contingent. I've gotten to know Harley through her work at BOOM! Studios, and most recently she was behind the incredible "An Evening With James Tynion IV" that Tiny Onion and BOOM! collaborated on for the American Library Association conference. I remember Jazzlyn and I sharing a lot of devious plotting looks at the show, knowing it was the exact energy we were looking to bring into all of the amazing events we want to put in motion over the next few years.
I think you'll all be hearing a lot more from her soon as one of the key voices of the Tiny Onion operation, but if you're going to be down in San Diego, she'll be part of the whole Onion Crew. Please say hello!
The Empire of the Tiny Onion marches ever forward. We've got some exciting conversations on the books this week, but mostly I'm just eager to see all of my industry pals, hang out with my onions, and get to spend some time with all of YOU lovely people who read these comics and have made this whole thing possible.

Jazzlyn | San Diego
Just read SKTC #39. Blew my socks off. About to read Nice House on the plane ride to San Diego! See you there!!!
Literally dropped my iPad after reading the last pageholy cow! The “Nice House” series is beyond excellent. It feels like a culmination of James’ work. I’m having trouble finding another comic to compare it to besides maybe Saga? Where all these threads the author has used previously come together creating a gorgeous lush tapestry. It reminds me of the Beatle’s Sgt. Pepper or Tarantino doing Inglorious or Tyler the Creator’s Flower Boy moment. This book is so fucking great
