It’s spring, which typically means rebirth and renewal. For us over in the Tiny Onion kitchen, that means we have been cooking up a storm.
First up, our friends at Third Eye Comics have completely revamped our web store. It’s BEAUTIFUL! Shout out to Emma in particular, who designed, coded and created this magnificent ode to horror. Thank you, Emma. 🖤
To celebrate, we’re offering a 20% discount for the weekend. This is the biggest discount we’ll likely ever offer, so go have some fun and make us regret it.

Did you see? It’s important that you see.
Our Eisner Nominated series, The Department of Truth will be back on shelves, June 2024 with issue #23.
Confronted with an enemy intent on exposing their secrets to the world, the Department of Truth makes a shocking choice-go public first. But to understand Lee Harvey Oswald's risky gambit, we have to return to where it all started: Dallas, 1963, as President John F. Kennedy's motorcade passed the grassy knoll... Multiple Eisner-winning writer James Tynion IV and acclaimed artist Martin Simmonds bring their celebrated series back from hiatus with the bang heard around the world!

Over the last year and a half the question I’ve gotten more than any other has been “When is The Department of Truth coming back?” And now the time has come for Martin Simmonds and I to dig back into the strangest darkest corners of the American Dream. These next issues of DOT are going to uncover our world’s take on the Kennedy Assassination, and unveil some of the dark truths around the DOT’s director, Lee Harvey Oswald.
This is a big Department of Truth year. I wish I could tell you more about what’s happening behind the scenes with the DOT TV series we’ve been developing with Sister Pictures. I wish I could tell you more about the huge twists and turns we plan on taking you through with the comic over the next few years. But suffice to say that intermission is over. The series is going to be back, moving at a steady pace from now until we close out the epic we started with number one. Get ready to see DOT back in your pull lists from here to the end.
On top of DOT coming back this year, I’m also absolutely thrilled to be collecting an old favorite feature that debuted here on my Substack Newsletter… DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH: WILD FICTIONS will be a beautiful oversized hardcover art book designed to shelve perfectly next to your Complete Conspiracy hardcovers. We had some of the finest comic artists and illustrators join us to draw our favorite cryptids, and documented our in-world DOT Field Office’s reports on each of their histories and how the department came to become aware of them.
There’s so much exciting DOT stuff to come… This year you’ll be hearing us bang the drum about what we’re doing with Issue #25, and after that we’ll be hitting the five year anniversary of DOT’s launch in 2025!
Oh, and one more thing… Do you all remember the DOT Bootleg Edition we did for NYCC? Well, we decided we loved doing it so much that we created the Red Ink Bootleg that we’ll be debuting later this month at C2E2. Just look at this beauty. Only 500 exist, and once they go they’re gone.
Can’t wait to go back down the rabbit hole with Martin, Aditya, and all of you. Hope the spring is treating you well.

Staying busy, and hoping you’re well,
Tiny Onion Crew 🧅
On the one hand I’m sad to hear you talk as if DoT is not too far from it’s conclusion. But on the other hand, the best comics are (almost) always the ones with a planned ending and a finite story that knows when to wrap up.
Either way I’m along for the ride. I have yet to read a book by you I don’t like but DoT is still a step above even by that lofty standard
The new website looks so good!! Excited for all things to come, especially Dept of Truth! ...but maybe Wynd too?? 😁
