Hello Friends.
Welcome to the world of NEW BRIAR CITY.
It’s an ordinary kind of city, filled with ordinary people, but in its shadows lurk MONSTERS. Monsters who have tried to find peace in a world that wants to hunt and kill them. This is a world where the bad guys won long ago, and the few survivors, like Adam Frankenstein, have long lost hope of making a place for themselves in the world.
This is a story set in that sad, pedestrian world. It’s also a story of the next generation of monsters and mad scientists who aren’t willing to accept this world for what it is. And the story of the dark forces determined to keep them in the shadows.
Last week we introduced you to the main character of this story, the teen mad scientist, Christopher Chaos. Over the next few months, we’re going to lay out some of the key details of this world that I’ve been building with Tate Brombal, Isaac Goodhart, Nick Robles, Kurt Michael Russell, and Aditya Bidikar over the last six months with the help of our fearless editor Greg Lockard, in advance of the release of our complete, oversized first issue later this spring.
All posts for The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos are going to be available for free with a newsletter subscription. Paid subscribers will receive all of the neat behind-the-scenes posts we have planned.
I’ve been waiting for the lightning to hit and bring this long dormant story to life for a very long time. This is just the beginning of something big. As Adam Frankenstein (who IS the original Frankenstein monster) says above…
“Fear the dark, father. Light a candle for your dread. The dead will not stay dead.”

That was awesome, more please! Also I love Aditya's parchment captions!
Seems like a really cool and interesting concept. Some familiar aspects and I am sure new ones to come. Keep up the great work!
