Tiny Onion Christmas Card 01: THE NICE HOUSE ON THE LAKE

I love the holidays. I always have.

Part of it is just the fact that with a mid-December birthday that’s juuuuust far enough from Christmas I always managed to snag two rounds of presents. But it’s more than that. There’s that amazing kind of quiet that exists only when you go outside into fresh snow. There’s the movies, and the music, even the movies and the music I like to complain about. I love Christmas episodes of TV shows, and seeing members of my extended family I’d like to see more often. I love figuring out what to get people as presents, and drinking egg nog and all of it. I just set up our Christmas Tree yesterday, and we’re going to decorate it this weekend.

But I didn’t just want to keep the decorations in my home. So this year, I decided to commission the co-creators of my big four books - THE DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH, THE NICE HOUSE ON THE LAKE, SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN and WYND to whip up some holiday images for all of you.

So here is my first Tiny Onion Christmas Card, by the co-creator of THE NICE HOUSE ON THE LAKE, Álvaro Martínez Bueno, featuring everybody’s favorite flesh tornado, Walter!!

For those of you who haven’t been reading TNHOTL, it’s the story of an old group of friends who get invited to a lake house for a nice relaxing weekend by their old friend Walter. From there it quickly veers into an apocalyptic horror story. It’s published by DC Comics Black Label, and features colors by the amazing Jordie Bellaire, letters and design by the fine humans at Andworld Design, and is edited by the incredible team of Chris Conroy and Marquis Draper. Six issues have released so far, and we’ll be back with the series this spring with more twists and turns than you can handle. For those trade-waiters out there, the first trade paperback is going to be releasing in March 2022, and you should let your local comic shop know that you want a copy RIGHT NOW.
