TINY UPDATE 11/7: When In Spain
“Tiny Update” is a monthly free newsletter that keeps you up to date on the latest news, comic book projects and merchandise offerings from James Tynion IV and Tiny Onion Studios
Hello Friends,
I’m writing this Sunday night, since I’ll be getting up first thing in the morning for the flight to the UK, where I’ll be spending the last week of my European Tour. I have to say that Spain has been absolutely wonderful. I’m so grateful to ECC for bringing me out for the show, and getting to meet so many Spanish fans.
I think my favorite moment this weekend was during one of my signings with Alvaro, when all of the people in line to get signatures looked up at the sitting area above the booth and started to cheer loudly at the top of their lungs for some unseen person. And that's when Alvaro leaned over and said “Ah, Jorge is here.”
You can see my pure delight and delirium after I saw that the phenomenal Jorge Jimenez and his partner had cosplayed as Joker and Punchline for their signing.
Tom Taylor was also at the show, and he captured this incredible picture of my joy and panic (and more delirium) after we had arrived at a spectacularly crowded bar late Saturday night. I think I was trying to make a face that said “Oh god, What have we done?” but I think it secretly betrays a bit of the chaotic joy of the evening.
I love Spain. I was able to meet up with so many phenomenal artists I’ve had the pleasure of working with, from my current creative partners Alvaro Martinez Bueno and Fernando Blanco, to my former partner in all things Gotham, Jorge Jimenez, to SO MANY incredible artists I’ve had the pleasure of working with in the past. I’ve always had a strong love for Spanish artists, and I got to hang out and drink with a lot of them over the last few days and it was fucking amazing.
I am phenomenally fucking tired, but in a good way. But I am fucking tired nonetheless. So I’m going to get right to the meat of this newsletter. I have a lot of amazing comic books coming out this month. From the penultimate issues of Wynd Book Three, Nice House on the Lake and DC vs Vampires, the last issue of the current arc of Department of Truth, the fist issue of a new arc of SIKTC, and the first preview of my new Image Comics series W0RLDTR33. I hope you read and enjoy them all! But first, let me tell you what is coming out and when!

And then I am flying home and catching up on all of my work to stop my editors from having panic attacks in the middle of the night. For twenty days or so, anyways. Then I’m flying to SINGAPORE. And then a little over a month after I get home from that, I fly to ANGOULEME. God help me!
I’m starting to nail down what my 2023 convention schedule is going to look like, and it is definitely NOT going to be as intense as this year was. But I promise I’ll still be making my way around the country, and this newsletter is going to be the best way to keep track of all that.
We only have TEN DAYS LEFT in our Room Service Kickstarter! Elsa Charretier, PK Colinet and I are making a horror short film, a comic book, and an art book… and with your help, we’re funding the dang thing on Kickstarter!
Elsa Charretier has been doing amazing illustrations based on classic horror movies and has been putting them up for sale through the campaign as add-ons. Last Friday I showed off her Nightmare on Elm Street, but now I have to show off her take on THE SHINING:
Please go check out all the incredibly cool stuff that we’ve got cooking for you at the link below!
Next Monday, I have one last big announcement for the year coming for you, right as we start banging the drum for the final days of the Kickstarter campaign. And right after that, I’m going to unveil the 2023 iteration of THE ONION CLUB. Stay tuned, folks! It’s going to be a very exciting month here at the Empire of the Tiny Onion!
Also: If you live in America, VOTE TOMORROW! This shit is REALLY important! I know we’re all having fun watching Elon Musk implode in front of a live studio audience, but don’t take your eyes off the ball.

Yes, watching successful people fail suddenly so tiny little people who aren't successful can cheer is great fun (sarcasm).
You're on top of the comics game right now. Without question. Will you cheer when you fail publicly too and some other upstart takes over?
Shit yea!
