We Funded The Dang Kickstarter! Holy Crap!

This was me for a few hours yesterday, intensely watching the progress bar on Kickstarter climb from 95% to 98% to 99%… And then we did it! At just past 7pm ET, we funded Room Service! We’re going to make the dang thing!

I want to give a HUGE round of thanks to my amazing Substack Subscribers. We have some tracking tools on Kickstarter, and I can tell you right now that we kicked every other platform’s butt when it came to driving backers. A whole bunch of you showed up to help us bring this project to life, and I could not be more grateful. But the campaign’s not over yet! Heck, it’s just getting started. This bad-boy is going to be running for 27 more days! If you haven’t had a chance to jump over and check out the project yet, please do!

We’re making a Short Film, a Comic Book and a beautiful Art Book! Go watch the little film they have at the top of the campaign page and bear witness to how much better Elsa and PK are in front of a camera than me! I kept trying to read my notes which is why they had to use the different cuts of me, to try and hide how obvious it was. Meanwhile they are flawless, beautiful French people, speaking in a second language and making it look effortless. C’est la vie!

Today, I’m going to refrain from banging the drum Kickstarter as monstrously as I have been the last few days. But here’s a little taste… We’ve just announced the first stretch goal for the Kickstarter. If we cross it, everyone who is getting a physical item from the campaign will get a FANCY SCHMANCY BOOKMARK… And once we pass that benchmark… Well, let’s just say we have some exciting things for you comic fans out there.

Next Tuesday, I fly to Italy to kick off three weeks in Europe, in which I’ll be visiting LUCCA COMICS & GAMES, MADRID COMIC POP-UP, and THOUGHT BUBBLE COMICS FESTIVAL. I am so excited to see a bunch of you I don’t get to see in person all that often. Next week I’ll lay out my schedule in a bit more detail, so you know where you might find me at the shows!
