Answering some of the questions asked here - I have TWO Tiny Onion Exclusive covers for HOS. One of which is only available for Onion Club members and will never be put on sale. The other will be open to order on my webstore, and that's the one that will "drop" online.

I am working to transition my online store to a new platform (where I'm getting some help so I'm not doing it all myself like I have been the last year), when I transition to the new platform I'm going to be able to give early access (and it won't just be to variants - I have a whole merch program I've been developing that paid subscribers will get early access to). I have some new folks on staff dedicated entirely to that process.

I was hoping to have that all ready before the HOS launch, but it's looking like that's going to be another month or so before I can port everything over to the new store. So I figured I'd make this first drop open wide because it's not indicative of how the whole system will run when it's fully operational.

Thank you for bearing with me.

I appreciate the similarities with the old Ripley’s “Believe it, or not” style graphics like they had in newspapers. Good stuff.

I can only imagine the truth of the world. And I dare not talk about it! 🧅♣️

Slightly confused. Is the HOS exclusive for onion club only or will it also be for sale on the web site?

Thx for the heads up on the new books dropping next week and I applaud your tireless work ethic. My son and I are really enjoying the content and the connection point comics provide. You are a big part of that connection and I’m grateful.

Hello! James at some point would you clarify, are you putting for sale a house of slaughter 1 that you will also be distributing to your founders club tier subscribers? Like, is it the same comic or is it different? You had previously said you’d be distributing a house of slaughter 1 to your founders tier and I just am looking to see if it is the same or different from the one you are putting for sale.

I was under the impression that Onion Club members were supposed to get the first opportunity to purchase any variants, etc. before the other tier-level and free members from the online store?

Absolutely- these little vignettes are promotional, encouraging people to join us in the Onion Club, like little ads that celebrate and tease the material. Hope you are enjoying the Betty and Barney Hill ride so far!

A bit confused by the response Oeming as I was referring to the House of Slaughter #1 variant James talked about in the latest update. I am a Day One Founding Member (aka Onion Club). I am quite sure that early on James had mentioned that those who were Onion Club members would be able to purchase any variants that would be made available for sale before any one else. If they go on sale on the 27th, are they going on sale just for Onion Club members or everyone? Hopefully there will be some sort of clarification soon about it. :-)

According to the much earlier post…

“Paid Subscribers are also going to get early access to purchasing exclusive variant covers, enamel pins, and much more.”

Whereas… “Formerly known as the “Founders Tier” option, members of THE ONION CLUB will receive SIX exclusive variant covers over the course of the next year (these covers may be to my existing print projects, or to as of yet unannounced projects). These covers will not available to purchase ANYWHERE else, and will be mailed directly to your home.”

So looks like us Onion Clubbers will get 6 exclusives for free and the others we will get access to buy alongside other paid subscribers but before the general public

Yes Onion Club members will get six exclusive variants within the first year that are only available to the OC members and won't be made for sale anywhere, the first being a HOS #1 variant. The HOS #1 variant that goes on sale will be different than the OC variant the way I read it, my question is since paid members get "early access to purchase exclusive variant covers, etc", will the 27th of October be the early access date, or will just anyone be able to purchase since they will be in his web store?

I also have to agree with your interpretation of what was written. I was confused since James' previous post mentioned that Onion Club members would receive the HoS variant and then today's post made it sound like it wasn't really an exclusive to the tier. I don't think it's a straightforward interpretation especially in lieu of the confusion on whose addresses in the tier are actually on record with James for books to be shipped to. So if an Onion Club member's address isn't captured properly, maybe they should be buying a copy at the store. All in all, its an expectation management issue, which will probably remain a bit murky as James tries to bring value to the subscription tier. So we will have to be a bit patient and have faith in James. In Tynion We Trust :)

Absolutely patience is the way to go, sounds like JT has been on overload so hopefully he is right now enjoying Dune on the big screen or at least getting ready to do so. From what I gather, and I may be wrong in assuming this, but there will be two JT exclusives for House of Slaughter #1. One copy will only be given out to those who are current Onion Club members as part of the "six variants in the first year" that was part of that membership tier. That variant won't be sold in his online store or anywhere else, thus, the only way to get it was to become an Onion Club member. The variant that goes on sale on the 27th sounds like a different variant all together that his fans can purchase. My only question is if Onion Club members get first right to purchase any other of the variants or if all paying members, regardless if they are Onion Club, yearly, or monthly members will all be vying to purchase at the same time on the 27th. Just my two cents but letting Onion Club members purchase in a first group, followed by yearly members in a second group, monthly members in a third group, and then open to the public (if stock remains) in a fourth/final group. Logistically its a lot of work placed on JT's shoulders as the man probably only gets a few hours of sleep a night with his workload. I would certainly go to work for the main in handling all of this if he ends up hiring people to help build this exciting empire he has created. :-)
