James Tynion IV and Michael Avon Oeming go behind the scenes on the creation of their new non-fiction comic series, BLUE BOOK, talk about their life long fascination with UFOs.
What a fascinating and fantastic interview! Can't wait for this! I'd also been meaning to check out Department of Truth, and this interview finally got me to add it to my pull list!
This is very exciting. I love the UFO and sci-fi genre. I know I'm going to enjoy this series. I'm not the biggest fan of web series or reading comics online because I'm not sure I'll understand the format. I'll start trying to read a comic book online on my phone and then end of going to my laptop to get the full scope of the comic. It gets confusing and I'm not sure how Substack is going to format the comic book either. I was excited for the book that I didn't care about how many times I need to rotate my phone or zoom in on panels. As long as the story is great and the art style matches the feel of the story, I'll enjoy the project. I like that it will be available for print so I can take it with me offline. I like this interview style post and how it's just a rant of the love for genre. I never had any true experiences with UFOs or ghost but other people I know have plenty of stories to tell me. I can't wait to check more posts out. Take care.
Like you, I am “an eagerly fascinated skeptic.” I believe that aliens exist in the universe but I don’t believe that any of them have visited Earth. However, the accounts that people have given of their own encounters are fascinating from a “where did that come from?” standpoint. This was a great conversation and really got me excited for “Blue Book!” Thank you, and best wishes for safe travels.
I grew up in a house hold filled with hauntings and some weird stuff happening, so I firmly put myself in a believer position, especially having my own weird experience with what I considered a extraterrestrial haunting-- literally have no idea what that means, but that's how I call it-- excited for the book!
Really excited and truly have become a solid fan since coming back into the world of comics last year right before the pandemic. Been catching up on Mimetic, The Woods, Something is Killing the Children, WYND, Department of Truth, Batman! I’m all in and subscribed to the highest tier to support your work so thank you from us @comixalliance
That was a good post. It really is true that perception is reality and reality is perception to each individual. When you think about those around you in terms of what is their reality and how does it differ from yours it makes you wonder. That is the main reason I try to avoid the news, social media, and things of that nature. Formulating your own ideas and opinions is what makes you different and keeps that sense of wonder alive in your life. The reality is none knows much of anything. usually things that are taught as facts are just attempts to prevent mass fear.of the unknown and later proven incorrect. Without things being unknown people have nothing to discover and make little or no progress toward the future. I really like thinking like that. Good stuff man keep it up.

I love it when you do interviews! It’s one of my favorite things about Razorblades
Ioved you and Mike's explanations of experiences.
