“Tiny Update” is a weekly free newsletter that keeps you up to date on the latest news, comic book projects and merchandise offerings from James Tynion IV and Tiny Onion Studios
Looks like it didn't send out, dangit! Clicked the wrong box when I scheduled the post. Just fired it off to everyone's emails. Sorry to those of you who already hunted it down and read it!
Since you are talking about dream merch I have to tell you how much I want an Erica action figure. And an Octo plush, obviously, but I have a hunch that’s coming.
Absolutely brilliant thoughts, esp re connecting to some of the original genre source material. I think there's still a lot of raw sci fi and horror creative potential in creative circles, it is just that many publishers and production companies stray away from it, which is strange as creative industries literally thrive on novelty.
Also just wanted to extend a big thank you for all the work being done on this substack. Your announcements last week were beyond exciting - I (and I am sure, everyone else here) really really appreciate all the quality stories you are all delivering. Lots of love and have a happy week !! Xx
If you're putting together an actual list or syllabi and wanted to make it public I'd love to see it! I've been trying the last few years to read a lot more of the past Hugo and Nebula nominated SF/F novels, but would be interested in expanding into more short stories. I haven't consumed a lot of Horror genre novels or fiction (or movies for that matter). Yours and Scott Snyder's work with all your collaborators has really been my first inroad into horror in general. I'm always looking for more suggestions. One of my favorite things about all these newsletters is seeing what everyone is reading and why.
Have you read "Incarnations: Three Plays by Clive Barker"? In the mid-90s in San Francisco I saw a local theatre put on a show of Frankenstein in Love. It was pretty sweet. I don't even remember the theatre. It was really small. Like 50-100 seat. It may have been a second stage in another theatre but I just don't remember.
I apologize in advance, but being a pest due to lack of response. I registered as a founding member but am NOT getting the Monday emails with the early access for the Tiny Onion store. Yes, I've checked the spam folder. I've even reached out to the nice folks at Third Eye Comics and they have said I should be getting the emails. Could I get someone off-line to help validate that the email address is correct? I don't want to be missing the limited drops.
Hi Brian. If you click the arrow on the top right and select My Account, make sure everything under Email Notifications is checked. If that doesn't work. Click the Email delivery issues link on that same page and go through the steps they list to make sure it isn't one of those issues. If you're still having issues, email us at tinyonionstudios@gmail.com and we'll do our best to help out!
Hey, can folks tell me if this popped up in their emails today, or if they just found it on the site?

Short story suggestions:

- Welcome to the Monkey House
Both are by Kurt Vonnegut.

That would be amazing!

I've had my eye on Timberborn for awhile now but I haven't pulled the trigger...I love me a good city builder game though.

Are there any plans to collect the Blue Book Bulletins and Wild Fictions into collected PDF or CBZ files?
Have you read or have any interest in Philip K Dick, House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, or analogue horror?
If you’re reading short story speculative fiction, may I suggest JG Ballard, I’m thinking that you may enjoy his range & his vision 👍
Thank you sir

@GregLockard, how do we reach out to you with questions? didn't find a messaging option on the substack homepage.
If you are looking for more Harlan Ellison read "The Deathbird" contained in his collection of short stories "Deathbird Stories".
If you become a fan of Ellison the documentary "Dreams With Sharp Teeth" is a great watch.

Thanks Tyler. All is good there. Don't see an "Onion Club" category if that exists though. Will take this off-line to email. I appreciate your help.
