I have read a couple bios of Theodore Roosevelt that I found engaging and revelatory. LBJ has the conspiracy angle going for him but TR has the bold adventurous attitude and a history of going against his class interests to try to do that right thing.

Thanks for the update! Is there any chance you would consider a Founders Tier signing while at SDCC? This is going to be my only chance to meet you this year.

Good morning! I'm packing for SDCC today and was wondering if I should bring any books for you to sign. Is there a chance you will do anything for your Onionites?

Your bookshelf is enviable and awesome. Shout out to Terry Moore and that six volume Starman omnibus everyone does or should have.

Look forward to spying on how many urban legend books are on your prose shelf.

Don't feel bad if you can't get through the Caro book - while it was definitive when it came out it's lost a little stature since then. If you haven't already ingested them I recommend Rick Perlstein's tetralogy on the rise of American conservatism instead: "Before the Storm" -> "Nixonland" -> "The Invisible Bridge" -> "Reaganland"

And just for fun: "The Skies Belong to Us: Love and Terror in the Golden Age of Hijacking" by Brendan Koerner.

Love the new Library! I feel It’s very important to have a Library that feels comfortable and functional. And I also want to point out that all your posts are beyond extremely well edited. I spent most of my life living with a newspaper editor and am very conscious of grammatical and language usage almost to a fault. It seems editing is a lost art. Thanks for your great Substack offering. I look forward to your posts.

Wishing I had the imagination to write!,

Mike

Hi James! I hope don’t come off as intrusive but I couldn’t help but notice it looks like some of those beauteous books are getting direct sunlight/UV - I would imagine they’re in danger of some serious fading over time. Just a heads up in case there are any high value books there!

I second SKTCHD and Off Panel! Also if you are looking for a quick bite of Robert Caro and don't want to spend 500 hours listening to The Power Broker and the LBJ biographies, Caro did a short audiobook (1 hr 45 minutes) called On Power, that touches on both Robert Moses and LBJ: https://www.amazon.com/On-Power-Robert-A-Caro-audiobook/dp/B06XKSGDX2

I read Wynd 1-10 recently and my first thought after a few issues was that it would make some kind of cool RPG video game world. So then I spent the next 8 issues wishing I could play Wynd the video game but couldn't so that sucked. I hope the Something is Killing the Children pilot script is well received. I have no insider information and am just randomly guessing. It very well could be Department of Truth.

get some tint on those office windows. I don't want the spines of your comics to fade from all that direct sunlight.

Thank you James! Love all of your work, just wondering if you are going to release a special tiny onion hardcover variant? Maybe with signed bookplate?
